Four Seasons of Mystic Designed by Jeannette Douglas of Jeannette Douglas Designs
Jeannette Douglas has dreamed up a brand new design for us -- the Four Seasons of Mystic -- a four panel creation depicted the wonderful New England seasons!
Bordered with lovely Gloriana Threads Loirkeet wool in seasonal shades, it delights in every season. Each season has a different color palette yet moves us gently from season to season. No storms on the horizon here! From patterned quilt blocks and spring flower baskets to a sail in the summer water, from ripening pumpkins in the autumn air to snowflake treasures in a frosty winter, this pattern uses many different specialty stitches including Trellis cross, Rhodes, Rice, Gobelin, Triple woven, French knots, Ray, Milanese, Jessica, Satin, Brick, and Pinwheel. Stitching is enhanced by use of Bijoux and Accentuate metallics, charms and beads throughout.
As an extra treat, there are 3 seasonal smalls: a pinwheel needle book, house and key scissors fob, and a flower basket pincushion. A nice touch of Weeks Dye Works felt is used in the finishing, creating 3 lovely accessories to use for your stitching fancy. A photo will be posted here as soon as it is available.
The finished size is 11 1/2" x 6 1/2". The design is worked on Lt Examplar 32 count fabric.
Students should have previous experience working on linen or linen-like fabrics and should be comfortable working from basic stitching diagrams and cross stitch charts. Students will need their favorite stitching tools or basic sewing kit (sharp sewing scissors, ruler or tape measurer, writing utensil, extra needles, a hoop or Q-Snaps, etc.). If required, student will need to provide their own additional lighting or magnification (remember, if bringing "plug-ins", please bring an extension cord).
Those on the Stitcher’s Hideaway email distribution list will receive notification as soon as a photo of the three seasonal smalls has been posted on the website. Email Sue at Stitcher’s Hideaway if you would like to be added to the list.
