Here’s an opportunity to snuggle in away from the cold with your stitching buddies and stitch, stitch, stitch!! We’ll be gathering with the express purpose of catching up on our WIPs (works in progress). There will be no instructor, no new retreat project, and no set “class” hours. What we will have is access to a stitching room from 8 a.m. to midnight both days so that we can devote ourselves to being stitching fools -- sharing time and laughs together, helping each other with our projects, and....SHOPPING! Yes! Chris’s Collection will be there for our stash enhancment pleasure! And if there is something you need to finish a WIP, you can contact Chris beforehand so that she’ll have it there at the retreat for you!
Registration for this retreat will be open exclusively to Stitcher’s Hideaway Alumni until January 1st, when it will then be opened to new stitchers.
Registration is just $185, with an $85 deposit required with your registration. Payment in full must be received by February 1, 2013.
Yummy catered lunches and dinners for both days are included in the registration fee.
On Friday night we’ll have Show ‘n Tell...during....our Pajama Party! Bring out your cozy jams and fuzzy slippers for this one if you dare!! Won’t the hotel staff be thrilled! {giggle}
We’re also having an optional Spring Stitching Exchange! The theme is anything to do with spring. Those who would like to participate must hand stitch something in keeping with the theme and turn it into an object -- a needlebook, ornament, pin cushion, fob, biscornu, framed piece, whatever. Bring it gift wrapped and we’ll have the exchange on Saturday.
The Winter Escape will be held at our familiar home-away-from-home -- the Mystic Comfort Inn, located at 48 Whitehall Ave., in Mystic, CT 06355. To reserve your room, call 860-572-8531 before February 2nd and request the Stitcher’s Hideaway Group Rate ($76+tax) at the time you make your reservation. The discount rate is good for the following nights: February 21-23, 2013. Reservations received after January 21, 2013 will be provided on a space available basis at prevailing rates. A complimentary deluxe continental breakfast is included with your reservation. Each room has 2 double beds. Hotel costs are not included in the registration fee so that local stitchers can commute to the retreat if desired.
